Proving once again that it is never too early to start watching Christmas movies, Hallmark Channel (and sister network Hallmark Movies & Mysteries) will begin their annual holiday celebration on October 21, 2022. This means 24 hours of Christmas movies on both networks, as well as 40 brand new original Christmas movies. There will be 31 movies premiering on Hallmark Channel’s “Countdown To Christmas” and 9 original holiday films debuting on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries’ “Miracles of Christmas” event.
While some shake-ups earlier in the year lead to several Hallmark stars heading to Great America Family, many popular Hallmark stars including Lacey Chabert, Tyler Hynes, Jonathan Bennett, Holly Robinson Peete, Andrew Walker, Ryan Paevey, Tamara Mowry-Housley, Nikki DeLoach, and Rachel Boston will all be returning for new films. This year’s schedule also features some major milestones for the network including Hallmark’s first Kwanzaa film, Holiday Heritage, and their first LGBTQ-centered romance, The Holiday Sitter.
Some other highlights include hallmark’s first film under the Mahogany Brand, The Holiday Stocking, and their first film under its faith-based Dayspring brand, The Gift of Peace. Hallmark has partnered with the Radio City Rockettes for A Holiday Spectacular, which debuts Thanksgiving weekend. Three popular Hallmark leading men - Andrew Walker, Paul Campbell, Tyler Hynes - are also teaming up for Three Wise Men And A Baby, and producer / country music legend Blake Shelton is returning to produce the 5th film based on his popular Christmas song “Time for Me to Come Home”.
The Elf Squad is also looking forward to Lights, Camera Christmas! which sounds like it could have some meta fun with the setting being the set of a Hallmark Christmas movie. Hopefully, this can be the start of a Hallmark Cinematic Universe!
